Wix Studio 2: New Details on Plan Mode, Aria 2.0, and the Wix Harmony Connection (A Wix Legend Partner's Perspective)

A few weeks ago, we wrote about Wix Studio 2.0 Is Coming, based on early signals from the Wix partner community. Since then, more specific details have surfaced from Wix Studio partners and designers who've had early previews of the new editor.
At LowCodeWebsite by iView Labs, we're a Wix Legend Partner based in India. We've built 100+ Wix Studio sites in the last year alone and worked with agencies across the US, UK, Europe, and Australia. When something new is coming on the Wix platform, we pay attention, and we stay close to the partner community to bring you the details as they surface.
Here's what we know now, based on early partner previews and what Wix has shared publicly so far.
What Is Wix Studio 2?
Wix Studio 2 is a rebuilt version of the Wix Studio editor, currently in development. Based on early previews, it brings Wix's visual editing, AI tools, professional design controls, and custom code capabilities closer together within a single, more connected editor.
It's not a surface-level redesign. The goal appears to be a more unified workflow, where design, AI assistance, and development sit within the same environment rather than feeling like separate tools bolted together.

What's New Since Our Last Update
Since our last post, several new details have surfaced from partner previews. Here's what appears to be coming:
1. Plan Mode
A new starting point for projects that pulls in business details, target audience, brand preferences, and site structure before design work begins. Instead of jumping straight into pages, Plan Mode is designed to turn early discovery notes - calls, emails, and briefs - into a structured plan before anyone starts building.
For agencies, this is the kind of feature that could genuinely tighten up the early stages of a project, where a lot of time usually gets lost translating a client brief into an actual site structure.
2. Aria 2.0
An upgraded version of Wix's AI assistant, Aria. Early previews describe it as working less like a basic copywriting helper and more like a design partner inside the workflow - able to suggest business tools, generate pages, rewrite copy, and adjust layouts as you go.
This continues the direction we talked about in our last post: AI that works alongside the designer, not instead of them.
3. Reusable AI Skills
The ability to save and reuse specific AI-assisted actions across projects, instead of starting every AI interaction from scratch. For agencies running similar projects repeatedly, this could meaningfully reduce repetitive setup work.
4. A Redesigned, Dark-Mode-First Editor
The interface has reportedly been redesigned with a dark mode default, a cleaner layout, and more direct on-canvas editing, aimed at reducing the number of clicks needed for common design tasks.
The Wix Harmony Connection
One of the more interesting details to surface is that Wix Studio 2 is reported to share visual design language and underlying site structure with Wix Harmony, Wix's separate AI website builder. This has led to speculation that a Harmony-built site could eventually convert into a Studio 2 site without a full rebuild.
If that holds, it suggests Wix is working toward a more connected experience across its products, rather than keeping Harmony and Studio as two completely separate paths.
What About the Timeline?
There's no official release date from Wix yet. Based on early previews, rollout has been described as expected to wrap up by late summer 2026, though this should be treated as an early estimate rather than a locked date.
The good news for anyone already building on Wix Studio: current projects are expected to carry forward, with migration tools reportedly planned to help move existing sites into the new editor once it's available. This mirrors how the move from Editor X to Wix Studio worked, with existing work carried forward rather than starting over.
What This Means for Businesses and Agencies
If these early details hold up as Wix Studio 2 gets closer to release, here's the practical impact:
1. A More Structured Project Kickoff
Plan Mode could reduce the time spent turning a scattered client brief into an actual site structure, which is especially useful for agencies juggling multiple projects at once.
2. Deeper AI Assistance, Still in Your Control
Aria 2.0 continues Wix's approach of AI as a collaborator, not a replacement, generating pages and suggestions while leaving final decisions with the designer.
3. Less Repetitive Setup Work
Reusable AI skills mean agencies won't need to rebuild the same AI workflows project after project.
4. A More Modern, Efficient Editor
The redesigned, dark-mode interface is aimed squarely at reducing the manual clicks and busywork that come with day-to-day site building.
5. Continuity, Not a Rebuild
Existing Wix Studio sites are expected to carry forward into Studio 2, rather than forcing businesses and agencies into a full rebuild.
Should You Wait for Wix Studio 2?
Our answer hasn't changed since our last post: no, you shouldn't wait.
Wix Studio today is already a capable, production-ready platform, and it's being actively improved with real AI and performance upgrades throughout 2026. Based on early signals, current studio projects are expected to carry forward into Studio 2 rather than needing to be rebuilt. Building now means you get a professional website today, with the benefit of these upgrades as they roll out.
Our Perspective as a Wix Legend Partner
We've built over 100 Wix Studio websites in the last year across industries, including healthcare, nonprofit, pharma, legal, and SaaS. We've watched Wix Studio evolve quickly, and the direction Studio 2 is heading in- more structured planning, deeper AI collaboration, and a more connected editor- points to a platform that's continuing to mature for professional, agency-level use.
We're staying closely engaged with the Wix partner community and Wix's official product updates, so as more details are confirmed and once Wix Studio 2 becomes generally available, we'll be ready to bring it into client projects from day one.
